WBC champion Agit Kabayel has considered how Tyson Fury may fare against Anthony Joshua, who he feels is the “biggest puncher in the heavyweight division”.
The two Brits are set to collide in November, yet it remains to be seen whether their long-awaited showdown will take place in the UK or US.
There is reportedly now a strong chance of Cardiff’s Principality Stadium hosting their all-British clash, with a date of November 28 said to be being explored.
Even now, though, we await an official announcement on whether the event will even take place, let alone be staged at a venue that is desirable to British fight fans.
The majority of these fans, meanwhile, appear to be favouring Fury, who comes off a seventh-round stoppage of the 46-year-old Mariusz Wach in July.
Joshua, too, completed a warm-up fight that same weekend, only to encounter far greater jeopardy against the previously little-known Kristian Prenga.
Rather shockingly, the 36-year-old suffered two first-round knockdowns before reminding us of his considerable power by stopping Prenga in the following three minutes.
But while Joshua certainly remains a formidable puncher, world heavyweight champion Kabayel has told Playbook Boxing that he is siding with ‘The Gypsy King’.
“I think Fury win, but not easy win. AJ has the punch – he’s a big puncher. I think he’s the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division, but the problem is in his mind.
“I think [on] points or [by] KO, Fury win.”
Prior to defeating Wach, Fury unanimously outpointed Arslanbek Makhmudov in April but, like Joshua, the 38-year-old appears far removed from his prime.
