Adrien Broner has considered how his former opponent, Manny Pacquiao, will fare if the latest rumours prove accurate and he ends up facing Shakur Stevenson.

The Filipino legend returned from a near four-year layoff in July 2025, boxing to a contentious draw against then-WBC world welterweight champion Mario Barrios.

Indeed, the 47-year-old hardly disgraced himself, yet his performance was perhaps flattered by the fact it came against a fighter with dubious world-level credentials.

In any case, many felt uneasy about the proposed rematch between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, which was supposed to take place later this month in Las Vegas.

With Mayweather having been plunged into further legal chaos, though, ‘Pac Man’ has seemingly spent the last few months attempting to find an alternative opponent.

And now, rather bizarrely, a potential dance partner has been rumoured in the form of Stevenson, who would be made a mammoth favourite if they were to collide.

The 29-year-old is, after all, one of the sport’s finest pound-for-pound talents, who comes off a wide points victory over Teofimo Lopez for the WBO world title in January.

Since then, Stevenson has inked a lucrative deal with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, yet it remains to be seen whether he will continue to campaign at 140lbs.

In terms of a possible Pacquiao clash, meanwhile, Broner has told ESNEWS that the American would win in emphatic fashion.

“He gonna cook Manny. Manny will be too short for Shakur. Shakur is tall, has got length [and] uses his feet well. He punches harder than what people think; he’s stronger than what people think.”

Pacquiao unanimously outpointed Broner in 2019, before edging a split decision against Keith Thurman and losing his WBA title to Yordenis Ugas.
