FLOYD MAYWEATHER was due to attend today’s press conference ahead of the clash between WBA super-lightweight champion Adrien Broner and Ashley Theophane, the latter promoted by Mayweather.

It appears that Broner’s legal difficulties aren’t going to derail his contest with Theophane at the DC Armory in Washington on Friday (April 1). Broner appears to be facing felonious assault and aggravated robbery charges in his hometown of Cincinnati.

TMZ Sports allege that Broner, armed with a gun, knocked a man unconscious outside a bowling alley after a series of games that were being heavily bet on.

The public workouts ahead of the fight on Tuesday were cancelled due to a delay to flights out of Las Vegas but the rest of the fight week events are due to take place.

Broner has a history of bad behaviour. He has been given chances, after losses to Marcos Maidana and Shawn Porter he was still permitted to fight for the WBA strap. But there are no signs that he has learned from his mistakes, rather the indications are that he will continue to squander his opportunities.
