‘A David Haye win is a formality,’ says Darren Barker

Former world champion Darren Barker insists David Haye can get past limited Mark de Mori to set up much bigger fights this year

‘A David Haye win is a formality,’ says Darren Barker

AS part of our official David Haye v Mark De Mori preview, in this week’s issue of Boxing News magazine, former world champion Darren Barker gives his views on Haye’s comeback. The issue is out now on our app and in stores on Thursday (January 7).

IT’S difficult coming back from an injury. Firstly, it has to have healed up well. It’s important the operation has been successful and David is physically ready. Then, as long as there are no mental scars, a comeback can be a positive thing. I was so fed up of being injured and there was no better feeling than getting back in the ring. A Haye win is a formality. De Mori is an unknown but, from what I’ve seen, he is limited. I expect only a handful of rounds in the fight, and then some mouth-watering domestic heavyweight blockbusters for Haye in 2016.
