When and why you started boxing:
My dad [former three-time Midlands Area title challenger Shaun Norman] was a professional boxer and I used to go to the gym with him when my mum was at work.

Favourite all-time fighter:
I’ve got three – Pernell Whitaker, Naseem Hamed and Roy Jones Jnr.

Best fight you’ve seen:
When Floyd Mayweather beat Arturo Gatti [via sixth-round retirement in June 2005]. Mayweather just dominated the fight with the quality of his performance.

Personal career highlight:
Beating Nathan Reeve [unanimously on points over 10 rounds] to win the English flyweight title in December 2013.

Toughest opponent:
Andrew Selby, who I fought for the British flyweight title [l ud 12 – May 2016]. He never stopped and was a tricky opponent.

Best and worst attributes as a boxer:
My best attribute is that I can take a shot, although that isn’t always a good thing. My worst is that I lack confidence sometimes.

Training tip:
Put the hard work in, but enjoy yourself.

Favourite meal/restaurant:
A chicken tikka masala from Akash Tandoori in Shepshed. It’d be a takeaway though, as I like to sit at home with my wife watching TV while we eat.

Best friends in boxing:
[Fellow pro] Benn Norman – my brother and training partner, my dad and my manager, Carl Greaves.

Other sportsman you would like to be:
Floyd Mayweather because of the money and the fame.

Last film/TV show you saw:
Armageddon – the Bruce Willis film.

Who would play you in a film of your life:
It’d have to be someone short I guess. Maybe Kevin Hart!

Have you ever been starstruck:
No, not really.

Last time you cried:
When I watched Armageddon with my wife the other night.

Best advice received:
‘Look after your money. Put it in the bank because your boxing career doesn’t last forever.’ [Retired ex-Commonwealth and European super-bantamweight champion] Rendall Munroe told me that.

Worst rumour about yourself:
Some people have said on Twitter that I’m finished. It doesn’t bother me, though. It’s only their opinion.

Something not many people know about you:
I’m a hopeless romantic.
