PUERTO RICAN legend Miguel Cotto has not fought since his 2015 points defeat to Canelo Alvarez. But he insists heโll be ready for his August 26 opponent, Japanโs Yoshihiro Kamegai.
โIโm really happy to be back. Iโm really happy to be here. Our training camp starts on July 1. Weโre going to return to Puerto Rico, Iโll come back in the last days of June. Iโm going to do the best I can in the training camp just to bring my best. Kamegai, heโs a tough fighter. I know heโs coming with victory on his mind. Iโm going to work as hard as possible. Iโm going to do the best I can. For this fight Iโm going to fight with my heart. As always,โ Cotto said.
Kamegai himself was full of praise for Cotto. โFor me to fight someone Iโve been a fan of since I was 20 years old is an honour and I look forward to fighting him,โ he said.
But the Japanese fighter insisted, โI am going out there to win this fight.โ
He added, โI really donโt speak English very well but I do speak boxing and I plan to put on an entertaining and great performance. Please watch this fight.โ
