MATCHROOM BOXING have announced the fighters that they’ve signed to box in the United States on the DAZN streaming service.

DAZN have won the US broadcast rights for Anthony Joshua’s next fight. The unified heavyweight champion’s September 22 defence of the WBO, IBF and WBA titles against Alexander Povetkin will be the first boxing event screened on the platform.

“It’s a new era in broadcasting. Everything we do is always refreshing and new so it was only right that we be part of this,” Joshua said.

Matchroom

Matchroom’s first US card will take place on October 6 in Chicago, with IBF light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev defending against Callum Johnson. Former world champion Jessie Vargas will be on that show as will, in a separate fight, Demetrius Andrade. Katie Taylor is also due to defend her IBF and WBA lightweight world titles against Cindy Serrano. US heavyweight Jarrell Miller will also make an appearance on the show.

The next Matchroom USA show will take place on October 20 in Los Angeles with Daniel Roman defending his WBA super-bantamweight title against the UK’s Gavin McDonnell. Matchroom have also signed WBO super-lightweight champion Maurice Hooker and hope to stage his fight with Alex Saucedo on that bill.

Even ring announcer Michael Buffer has signed multi-year deal with DAZN.

Subscriptions to DAZN will cost $9.99 a month.
