Manny Pacquiao bites back at Floyd Mayweather but the feud remains merely a war of words

THE feud between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao continues without any sign of differences being settled in a boxing ring.

The Filipino, preparing for a November 22 showdown with Chris Algieri, reacted to news that Mayweather had openly staged events to spice up Showtimeโ€™s All Access, with suggestion the American will never fight him.

โ€œFloyd Mayweatherโ€™s testimony to the commission on All Accessโ€™ authenticity tells me everything I need to know about his desire to fight me,โ€ Pacquiao tweeted.

Mayweather responded on the social media site with typical charm.

โ€œ…Miss Pac Man is broke and desperate for a pay day. Your Pay-Per-View numbers are a joke,โ€ came the reply, posted alongside photographs of Pacquiaoโ€™s 2012 loss to Juan Manuel Marquez.

Immediately after Mayweatherโ€™s September 13 rematch victory over Marcos Maidana, the unbeaten superstar indicated he would be willing to take on his perennial nemesis in 2015. However, within an hour, at the post-fight press conference, his interest cooled as reporters pressed him to reiterate his desire to fight Pacquiao.

The increasingly exhausting subject of Mayweather was addressed by Pacquiao during a recent television interview in the Philippines.

โ€œIโ€™m not angry at him,โ€ Pacquiao said about Mayweather. โ€œI still feel sorry for him because he acts like an uneducated person. Itโ€™s pitiful to me and I’m praying for him.

โ€œHe should fear God.โ€

Pacquiao then quoted a verse from the New Testament book, Matthew.

โ€œFor what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?โ€
