CAN the dream become an unlikely reality? Canelo Alvarez vs Rocky Fielding takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York tonight (December 15).
Fielding has been plucked from relative obscurity to take on one of the biggest names in the sport. Alvarez is moving up to 168lbs for the first time and has his eye on the ‘regular’ WBA super-middleweight title Rocky holds.
Canelo wants a belt in a third weight class but also to keep active, getting in his second fight of the year after a six month suspension for traces of clenbuterol kept him on ice in the first half of 2018. While he is testing out how is body handles the super-middleweight division it offers Fielding the chance of using his size, weight and reach in a bid to secure a victory that would be one of the biggest upsets in boxing.
