LEE SELBY still hopes to fight Carl Frampton later in the year, despite the Ulsterman losing to Leo Santa Cruz and Selby seeing his Las Vegas outing scrapped at the last minute.

The Welshman was scheduled to defend his IBF featherweight crown on the undercard of Framptonโ€™s thrilling points loss to Santa Cruz at the weekend.

However his opponent, Jonathan Victor Barros, failed to meet the medical requirements of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

He told Boxing News, โ€œI found out just before I was meant to go and make weight, literally three or four minutes before I went in. I was in the back room, waiting for someone to come and call me onto the scales, and then they gave me the bad news.โ€
