When did you start boxing?
I started boxing when I was about the age of five or six.
How did you get into boxing?
My dad took me to the local boxing club when I was about five to try and burn some energy. I was quite a boisterous kid always, I think. Not like, I wasn’t too naughty. I was just always like fighting at school, playing football. Just like quite aggressive.
โ If you could play another sport professionally what would it be?
Golf. When I’m not boxing, I’ll say I play quite a lot of golf. I’m not sure if a lot of people know that. I play with my dad and brother quite a lot. Tony, my coach, he plays quite a lot. John Ryder started to play. Yeah, I’m not sure if many people know that, but I like, I enjoy my golf.
Best friend in Boxing?
Iโve made loads of great friends for life over my boxing career that I still speak to on the weekly throughout my amateur and pro career but if I was going to pick one out I would probably say John Ryder we have a good laugh in the gym
Favourite part of boxing?
I would say itโs just the buzz of that winning feeling, getting in the ring. Just like a bit of like nervous and excitement to get in the ring and get in that fight.
Who would you want to play you in a film of your life?
Brad Pitt
Favourite boxer of all time?
Roberto Duran or Kelly Pavlik
Cheat meal and restaurant?
Indian takeaway or chicken burger and chips
Do you remember the first time you got punched?
I think the first time I ever sparred properly was when I was around six years old and got bashed up by a boy a few years older and he gave me a nose bleed but for some reason I enjoyed it and still wanted to go back every week.
