Jessie Vargas or Tim Bradley most likely next for Kell Brook

THE much spoken of, major summer fight that Kell Brook needs could see the IBF welterweight champion lining up against WBO champion Jessie Vargas or Tim Bradley.

Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn sees those two men as the most likely options. “It’s really difficult. Honestly, because Kell’s not a huge name in America. They know him and [the Kevin Bizier fight] would have been seen over there. I think they don’t look at Kell Brook and fancy that one. Charles Martin’s a good example, could have stayed in America, had a couple of defences. You pay the big money, they’ve got no choice. So you’ve got to find the big money for Kell. It is difficult,” Hearn confesses.

“While it would be wonderful to fight Vargas for the two belts, Bradley’s much bigger. Brook-Bradley’s a great fight. I’ve always wanted him to fight Bradley. I’m so desperate to make it because I know he can beat him. He’s that good. I know it’s easy to say that.

“[Kevin] Bizier is tough. [Danny] Garcia wouldn’t have done that to him. They might have stopped him in eight, nine, 10 rounds. The punches aren’t the same. Kell is switching southpaw without even thinking… He just does things so naturally. He sees the gaps. That’s the frustrating thing. We’ve got a British fighter that I think can be an elite fighter. He is an elite fighter but he hasn’t had the elite fights yet, other than [Shawn] Porter. That was a long time ago.”
