A furious Jarrell Miller accused Fabio Wardley of making a ‘diss song’ about him just moments before being held back by security at today’s explosive press conference.
Their altercation unfolded at Portman Road – the home of Ipswich Town Football Club – where the pair will collide for the vacant WBA ‘regular’ heavyweight title on June 7.
Today’s press conference sprung to life after Miller unzipped his jacket to reveal a Norwich City shirt, with ‘Going Down 25’ printed on the back.
Wardley then replicated the act and proudly unveiled an Ipswich top, rivalling the local team that has only recently received the support of his opponent.
But then, following a brief exchange of barbs, Miller began to express his outrage over a song that Wardley, looking just as confused as everyone else, denied any knowledge of.
“I was being real respectful, then he [Wardley] made a retarded ass diss song [called] ‘Big Baby Killer,’” the American explained.
“Where I come from, if you make a diss song, then that’s a death threat. He can talk all that nonsense, and be posh… [but] I’m gonna f*** you up, plain and simple.”
Wardley then replied by saying: “They call you ‘Big Baby’ because you don’t shut the f*** up – you need a pacifier in your mouth.”
At that point, Miller stood up and carried his enormous frame closer towards Wardley, initiating a heated confrontation that neither fighter was willing to back down from.
A team of security guards, though, managed to shift the Brooklyn bruiser back to his chair, allowing what had swiftly become a chaotic press conference to resume.
But still, Miller refused to remain silent, and even uttered perhaps his most bizarre line of the afternoon.
“When a dipper gets full of s***, you just throw it in the garbage,” the 36-year-old said.
Wardley then replied with: “What the f*** does that even mean?”
To which Miller said: “It means you’re full of s***.”
Ahead of their clash – in a boxing ring, that is – Wardley comes off a devastating first-round finish over Olympic bronze medallist Frazer Clarke.
His emphatic stoppage victory arrived last October, just under seven months removed from the pair’s enthralling 12-round dustup that resulted in a draw.
Miller, meanwhile, boxed to a draw against Andy Ruiz Jr last year after suffering a tenth-round knockout defeat to IBF champion Daniel Dubois in 2023.
His career has also been stained by multiple drug tests, with ‘Big Baby’ testing positive for three performance-enhancing substances, resulting in a lenient six-month ban from the WBA, ahead of his cancelled showdown against Anthony Joshua in 2019.
A year later, Miller then scuppered his scheduled fight with Jerry Forrest after, once again, testing positive for a banned substance.
That time, however, he was handed a two-year ban by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
