Harlem Eubank faces Irish fan favourite on March 7

THE next 12 months look to be a more intriguing period for Harlem Eubank after a frustrating 2024.

Having only fought eight rounds last year the 30-year-old welterweight could bank that and more against the fan friendly Tyrone McKenna on March 7 at the Brighton Centre in the seaside resort.

Rumours that Eubank would take on top British prospect Adam Azim were prevalent throughout 2024 but, despite the pair seemingly announcing the fight by facing off in the ring at the O2 Arena on Easter Sunday, the pair have yet to meet.

After waiting around for the best part of a year, Eubank finally moved on from Azim and faced Franceโ€™s Nurali Erdogan, whom he overcame in a scrappy eight-round affair in Newcastle back in November.

A recent announcement confirmed that Eubank would return to his hometown of Brighton on March 7, as he hopes to thrust himself further up the world rankings, currently ranked at #15 with the IBF

Today it was revealed that the eager-to-impress Eubank would take on the famously fearless and front-footed Irishman, McKenna.

โ€œLast time I fought in Brighton, we made history. The fans showed up in force, and I delivered a statement performance,โ€ Eubank said.

โ€œThis year, I want the big fights, and on March 7, back home at the Brighton Centre, live on Channel 5, Iโ€™m going to make a real statement at 147lbs.

โ€œMcKenna is a fan friendly, aggressive fighter whoโ€™s competed at the elite world level. Itโ€™s a real exciting fight, and thatโ€™s exactly what Iโ€™m in this game for.

“Thereโ€™s also a rich history between the Eubanks and Irish fighters. On March 7, Iโ€™ll add a new chapter.โ€

McKenna says he is a “nightmare” for Harlem Eubank.

Meanwhile, McKenna will travel to southern England fresh off of an impressive two-round demolition of Dylan Moran last month, as โ€˜The Mighty Celtโ€™ seeks to pull off the upset on away soil, admittedly โ€˜licking his lipsโ€™ ahead of the scrap.

โ€œI am licking my lips at the prospect of going into Eubankโ€™s hometown on March 7, meeting him in the middle of the ring, and going into battle.

โ€œHarlem has never met anyone like me in his career, not even close, and when the leather starts flying, he will soon realise thereโ€™s no easy way out.

โ€œI am one of the most entertaining fighters in Ireland, I have the heart of a lion, one of the best chins around and I am an absolute nightmare for Eubank.

โ€œEveryone could see from my last fight, that I am still incredibly dangerous, so make sure you donโ€™t miss it, live on Channel 5, on March 7 because Eubank is in deep trouble.โ€
