Frank Warren eyes Joseph Parker-Derek Chisora trilogy bout

PROMOTER Frank Warren is keen on making Derek Chisoraโ€™s 50th professional fight against one of his former opponents.

Chisora, 36-13 (23 KOs), completed his 49th bout back in February with a 12-round points win against Otto Wallin in Manchester. The 41-year-oldโ€™s victory in the IBF title eliminator also earned him the mandatory position for a shot at the title currently held by Daniel Dubois.

The veteran is now in a queue of mandatory challengers featuring Agit Kabayel (WBC) and Joseph Parker (WBO). Parker currently holds two wins over Chisora and Warren is looking at the possibility of a third fight between them.

โ€œIf we can make it, we will try,โ€ Warren told Boxing News. โ€œBut obviously, it’s all up to Derek.

โ€œHe’s the IBF mandatory challenger and that’s where he’s at. It’s got to be his choice but Chisora against Parker is a bloody good fight.โ€

Chisora is riding high on a three-fight winning run but Parkerโ€™s is currently double that. The New Zealander blew away late notice opponent Martin Bakole in two rounds back in February to reach half-a-dozen victories without defeat. Parker, 36-3 (24 KOs), had been originally scheduled to challenge Dubois for the IBF world title but illness sidelined the Brit during fight week and ruled him out.

Parkerโ€™s career has gone from strength to strength since he teamed up with trainer Andy Lee. Bakole, Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder are the three biggest scalps the former WBO champ has taken during his time working with the Irishman. The 33-year-old hopes to fight again this summer while he waits on a world title shot against the winner of the July 19 undisputed clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Dubois at Wembley Stadium.
