FORMER world heavyweight champion, Charles Martin has reportedly been wounded in a shooting.

According to TMZ Sports at 5am in Los Angeles Martin was shot in the arm during the incident.

Martin became a world champion in January this year. Once the IBF heavyweight title was stripped from Tyson Fury, Charles fought Vyacheslav Glazkov for the vacant belt, which he won when Glazkov collapsed with an injured knee. The American lost the title in his first defence, when British star Anthony Joshua knocked him out inside two rounds in London in April.

Martin has not boxed since.
