The Big Question: How will you cope with not having boxing in your life for the foreseeable future?

Michael Conlan (Featherweight contender)

It’s a hard one. Being a fighter, I need to get paid and with there not being any fights right now I’m not earning any money. If I’m honest, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’ll just keep training from home, sit tight and hope that it all blows over sooner rather than later.

Andy Clarke (Boxing commentator)

I think about boxing pretty much all the time and that won’t change but I’ll desperately miss the day to day. My wife runs a chocolate company called Lucocoa so I’ll be helping with that, making and wrapping chocolate bars.

Wayne Alexander (Former European super-welterweight champion)

Not having much of any live boxing is something I and all boxing fans will have to deal with as we can’t change the current circumstances. I’ve also had some refereeing work cancelled. But I have plenty of boxing on DVD from the past and the present which can occupy my time. YouTube has plenty to watch as well. I hope the current crisis gets sorted as soon as possible so things can be in order before the summer.

Nigel Wright (Former English super-lightweight champion)

This is a very testing time for everyone, not just boxing and sport. I will be remaining calm following government guidance; I will be staying positive and doing my own training in isolation as everyone’s safety is paramount. I would recommend all boxers do the same and try to keep up with training but safely, so they are ready and prepared for when we start back.
