CALLUM Simpson faces Steed Woodall in Sheffield tomorrow evening, live on Sky Sports, as the British boxing motor rumbles to a start in 2025.
Simpson (1/9) from Barnsley is an exciting fighter who showed his potential in 2024 and will be looking to carry that form into 2025. Claiming British and Commonwealth titles in a homecoming affair, Simpson was too sharp over the distance for Zak Chelli, winning a unanimous verdict after 12 rounds.
Simpson defends those belts against Woodall (11/2), who arrives in good spirits, having forced an upset round six stoppage over Lerrone Richards last summer. Steed will be super confident of repeating the trick here.
Woodall’s solid output, engine and ability to explode means he remains dangerous in and out of the trades. Simpson must temper his aggression and be patient at times to prevail.
That said, he is the favourite to get the job done. Woodall has shown little fear of getting his kitbag and hitting the road for a scrap. He won’t be intimidated, but the Richards win aside has fallen short when battling the better operators.
