Boxing News Betting Tips: Plant vs Resendiz

Caleb Plant To Win By KO/TKO & Fight To Go Over 7.5 Rounds @ 21/10

CALEB Plant and Jose Armando Resendiz square off in Las Vegas this evening and the emphasis is on the Nashville man to post an impressive performance. That’s because Plant (1/25) enters as a wide favourite to put in the work and get the job done.

Last seen posting a 2024 ‘Fight of the Year’ contender against Trevor McCumby, now aged 32, Plant has plenty left in the tank at the top level. Resendiz (11/1) is a solid contender, but his style should suit the WBA Interim king down to a tee.

Having done most of his work at middleweight, it’s Resendiz’s 2023 win over Jarrett Hurd that sparkles most on the record. An eighth-round stoppage loss to Elijah Garcia shows where Resendiz is in terms of fresh, relevant opposition.

While Plant remains a strong favourite to win -justifiably so- whether he can force the stoppage is the point of interest. Plant is more of a stinging technician, rather than a brutal one-punch finisher. However, previous victim Anthony Dirrell might disagree with that verdict.

If Plant is to end matters inside the distance, it’ll be an accumulative effort, peppering him with jabs and fast-handed flurries as Resendiz motors forward willingly. The straight knockout price isn’t that enticing, so a little mix-and-match brings more value for Plant to end it in the second half of the contest.
