Nelson (5/2) is an underdog who has threatened to break out on a couple of occasions. Beating a man 13 years his junior would finally propel the Nebraskan into the spotlight.
Nelson is talking like a man who knows this is a must-win evening. A bad loss could see him slide out of view altogether. That makes it a risky affair for Pacheco, who has looked slightly laborious at times in his career.
Pacheco’s long jab will be in play and it is up to Nelson to close that gap and get to work. Diego will need to give him something to think about and he certainly has the power to do so. Despite a solid effort from Nelson, California’s Pacheco should have enough to get over the line.
