Hitchins vs. Kambosos: Betting Tips and Odds

Richardson Hitchins To Win By KO/TKO @ 21/10 & Richardson Hitchins To Win By KO/TKO in Rounds 7-12 @ 7/2

RICHARDSON Hitchins and George Kambosos go at it later this evening as Hitchins makes the first defence of his IBF super-lightweight title. The Madison Square Garden Theater in New York hosts what could potentially become a one-sided affair.

Hitchins (1/12) was last seen posting a decision victory over Liam Paro in Puerto Rico. Using his smart moves, ring intelligence and powerful left jab, Hitchins caused Paro multiple stylistic issues. Ominously, Kambosos (7/1) has struggled with those same things himself in previous outings.

The Australian boxer’s form since his shock win over Teofimo Lopez in 2021 has led some to label that evening as a one-off where the stars aligned for Kambosos. His form peaked, Lopez’s dipped and the course of history was altered.

Kambosos’ 2-3 run of form, including a controversial win over Maxi Hughes and tough 12 rounds with Jake Wyllie, shows that he may be on the slide. A loss to Vasiliy Lomachenko sandwiched in between is no shame, but it represented the first professional stoppage loss of George’s career, now entering year 12.

That will all be music to the ears of Hitchins, who boxes in a similar fashion to Devin Haney, who represented a puzzle Kambosos was unable to solve across 24 rounds on home soil.

It may sound harsh given Kambosos’ career achievements and dependable displays at the top level, but seeing if Hitchins can force the stoppage is the only real point of interest here.
