Four ways to use the lead hook
Mark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing

THE lead hook is one of the most dangerous punches because the target for the hook is the temple, which is a primary pressure point. If you get hit hard enough there you are in trouble. On the video below I break down the lead hook and show you four ways to be able to throw it.

If you have watched my videos in the past, you will know I always say the lead hook is the most awkward punch to throw. That is just the most basic mid range hook. If you’re just learning how to box or have been boxing a while, let me tell you this – the way you throw this punch can either make you look like a pro boxer or a bad window cleaner. On this video I go over the short range, mid range, Iong range hooks as well as my favorite lead hook to throw.
