Anthony Joshua v Dillian Whyte betting

WILLIAM HILL, the proud sponsors of the Bad Intentions card at the O2 in London, are getting ready for the biggest night in British boxing since Carl Froch v George Groves II. The bookies are already starting to see huge bets coming through for the top-of-the-bill match between the unbeaten duo – Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua. One punter has staked £100,000 on Joshua at odds of 1/14 and stands to collect £107,142 should the 2012 Olympic champion be successful. Although that doesn’t tell the full story of the betting – the big punters may be backing AJ but over 77 per cent of all bets have been placed on Dillian Whyte at odds of 8/1.

“Bad Intentions has really caught the imagination of the British boxing public,” said William Hill Spokesman Tony Kenny, “and that has been reflected in amount of bets that have been placed with us.

“There’s a clear divide between punters on who they think will win. The big punters are lumping on AJ, while the man on the street is plunging on Whyte.”
