STEVE NORTH, General Manager of Dave, has affirmed that the broadcaster will consider showing more live boxing after they transmit the David Haye fight – versus Mark De Mori this Saturday (January 16), their coverage starting at 9pm from London’s O2.
“Yes,” North confirmed to Boxing News. “If it’s something our viewers want to see more of then we would absolutely look to get involved in more events. We’re always looking for opportunities to bring in new content to Dave and our commissioning team are in regular conversations with a wide range of people about new programmes we can make, including sports. David Haye’s comeback fight is the perfect combination of fan demand to see the fight and a well-known face to viewers.”
North also revealed that while the David Haye fight will be the only part of the bill broadcast live, highlights of the undercard matches would be shown after the main event. The General Manager is eager to see the size of audience the David Haye fight can draw.
“It’s Dave’s first exclusive major live sporting event and we’re excited to see it go out,” North enthused. “Dave has several shows that have got over a million viewers, sometimes going into several millions, so let’s watch this space!”
