Ellie Scotney inks deal with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions

UNIFIED super-bantamweight queen Ellie Scotney has jumped ship to join a growing stable of women’s boxing stars at Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).

The promotional outfit, headed by YouTube star Jake Paul, has also signed the likes of Alysia Baumgardner, Dina Thorslund and Ramla Ali over the past few weeks.

So now, with MVP seemingly looking to become the flagship promotion for women’s boxing, it only makes sense for Paul to add IBF and WBO champion Scotney, 10-0, to his roster.

The 27-year-old comes off a comprehensive unanimous decision victory over Mea Motu, representing her last outing under Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing banner.

Shortly after that fight, which took place in January, Scotney expressed her interest in a potential showdown with the then WBC featherweight titlist, Skye Nicolson.

However, with the Londoner initiating a working relationship alongside MVP, she should now be presented with plenty more opportunities in and around her weight division.

Unified bantamweight queen Thorslund, for instance, could be eying a move up to 122lbs, while super-bantamweight contender Ali, too, will likely be scratching around for her next opponent.

Undisputed super-featherweight champion Baumgardner, meanwhile, would make for a far more lucrative matchup should Scotney choose to pile on eight extra pounds.

In any case, though, it would appear that ‘The Cat’ is over the moon with her new promotional deal.

“Today marks the start of a special journey with [MVP],” Scotney wrote on X. “I’m truly blessed to be part of a team who are taking women’s boxing to a whole new level.

“I [would like to] thank Jake [Paul], Nakisa [Bidarian] and Amanda [Serrano] for changing the game and showing there is no ceiling. Now it’s time to get to work.”

In her social media promo video, Scotney was greeted by Bidarian and Serrano after catching a long-haul flight to New York.

And so, with Katie Taylor and Serrano’s undisputed trilogy showdown headlining an MVP card at Madison Square Garden on July 11, perhaps Scotney’s next fight has already been pencilled in.
