DAVID HAYE weighed in at exactly 16st today for his fight with Arnold Gjergjaj at the O2 Arena tomorrow night (May 21).

The 224lbs he scaled is three pounds less than what he weighed for his January meeting with Mark De Mori, but it remains considerably higher than any weight he was prior to his three-year hiatus.

Gjergjaj weighed 16st 13lbs – or 237lbs – for what will be just his second fight outside of Switzerland.

Shannon Briggs is the co-feature to Haye’s main event, and he weighed in at 17st 12lbs (250lbs) looking well sculpted for his 44 years.

He arrived at the weigh-in wearing a thick poncho and a bandana, while one his entourage blasted music from a portable speaker.

It was claimed he would face former European champion Alexander Dimitrenko on the bill, but Dimitrenko’s team disputed any knowledge of the fight. Journeyman Yakov Gospic was then lined up, but after a late change today Briggs will be facing Argentinian Emilio Zarate, who Gjergjaj has previously stopped.

Zarate was nowhere to be seen at the weigh-in, and will apparently hit the scales in private later today.

If all goes to plan and both Haye and Briggs win in their respective bouts, the pair will meet at the O2 in September.
