THE drama ahead of tomorrow nightโs Tottenham Hotspur Stadium headliner continues as both weighed in for the April 26 clash. Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr are due for a ceremonial weigh-in tonight at 6pm of the Ring Magazine-promoted show.
Benn scaled 156.4 pounds, well under the agreed 160-pound agreement. Things were not as simple for his adversary, who tipped the scales mere ounces over, thus incurring a $500,000 fine. Eubank appeared late for the official weigh-in, prompting some to wonder whether he would turn up at all.
When he did arrive, he scaled 160.2 pounds, which was whittled down to 160.05 pounds, but he could reach no lower. Eubank Jrโs woes are not over as he must stay within 170 pounds at the same-day weigh-in.
The undercard fighters also weighed in, with Anthony Yarde tipping the scales at 174.2lbs. His opponent, Lyndon Arthur, was 174.6lbs. British cruiserweight champion Cheavon Clarke was 198.7lbs. Challenger Viddal Riley weighed in at 199.2lbs.
Aaron McKenna came in at 159.7lbs, while Liam Smith hit 160lbs for their middleweight meeting. Chris Billam-Smith came in at 199lbs on the button. Brandon Glanton was slightly heavier at 199.5lbs.
