Caroline Dubois gears up for stern test on Natasha Jonas vs Lauren Price undercard

CAROLINE Dubois looks to make a second successful defence of her WBC world lightweight title against number one-ranked challenger Bo Mi Re Shin on March 7.

The pair will square off on the undercard of Natasha Jonas vs Lauren Price, featuring on an all-womenโ€™s Boxxer show at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Dubois, 10-0-1 (5 KOs), was elevated to full champion after claiming her WBC interim strap with a comprehensive unanimous decision victory over Maira Moneo in August.

Since then, the 24-year-old has made the first defence of her green and gold belt, producing a punishing display against Jessica Camara last month.

After flooring her opponent in the first round, โ€˜Sweet Carolineโ€™ looked set to secure a scintillating victory inside the distance.

However, a cut over Camaraโ€™s left eye meant that their bout was ultimately halted in the third round, handing Dubois the first draw of her professional career.

Yet still, the talented technician reminded fans, once again, that she possesses the skillset and physical attributes to reign supreme at 135lbs.

Her next opponent, meanwhile, has amassed three wins on the bounce โ€“ with two arriving inside the distance โ€“ in her home nation of South Korea.

Before that, Shin lost a contentious split decision against former world champion Delfine Persoon, who is perhaps best known for her two highly competitive encounters with Irish phenom Katie Taylor.

As one of the most fearsome punchers in her division, the 30-year-old should, if nothing else, provide a bold but calculated test for Dubois.

Beyond this fight, though, Dubois should be setting her sights on potential unifications with fellow lightweight champions Terri Harper and Beatriz Ferreira.
