Caroline Dubois blasts ‘audacious’ opponent as she targets undisputed crown

WBC world lightweight champion Caroline Dubois has promised to produce a statement performance against South Korea’s Bo Mi Re Shin this Friday.

The pair will square off at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London, England, featuring on the undercard of Natasha Jonas vs Lauren Price.

Stacked from top to bottom with intriguing matchups, the all-women’s card promoted by Boxxer boss Ben Shalom is set to deliver a compelling night of action live on Sky Sports.

A typically confident Dubois, 10-0-1 (5 KOs), however, firmly believes that her scintillating skills and spiteful power will be more than enough to steal the show.

Just under two months removed from her maiden title defence against Jessica Camara, the 24-year-old is now gearing up to take on WBC number one-ranked contender Shin, 18-2-3 (10 KOs).

But despite retaining her green and gold strap – after being elevated to full WBC champion – Dubois was ultimately forced to suffer a technical draw in Janurary.

A cut above Camara’s left eye was what caused their bout – dominated by Dubois from start to finish – to be halted in the third round.

But now, ‘Sweet Caroline’ must cast her attention towards Shin, who perhaps most notably lost a split decision to Delfine Persoon back in 2023.

With full belief in her ability, though, Dubois has set her sights far beyond her upcoming assignment and instead looks to become the undisputed queen at 135lbs.

“I don’t know who’s filling [Shin’s] head or what she thinks she has over me,” Dubois said during today’s press conference.

“It’s audacious for her to think that she can get into the ring and beat me, because she ain’t better than me. I believe that I have the ability to stop this girl.

“[I will become the] undisputed champion by the end of this year, or maybe early next year at the latest.”

Standing in the way of Dubois’ ambition are fellow lightweight titlists Terri Harper, Beatriz Ferreira and Stephanie Han, with all of whom seemingly remaining on her radar.
