British title triumphs for Liam Williams and Chris Jenkins at the Albert Hall

Liams Williams

LIAM WILLIAMS defended the British middleweight title with a thunderous knockout of Joe Mullender. Williams dropped Mullender heavily in the second round. Yet referee Robert Williams let Mullender continue, only for Williams to come straight in with a right cross and level him at once.

Also on Friday’s bill at the Royal Albert Hall Chris Jenkins outpointed Johnny Garton to win the British welterweight title. The judges unanimously scored for the Welshman, Robert Williams 119-109, Steve Gray 117-112 and Marcus McDonnell 116-112.

Heavyweight prospect Daniel Dubois crushed Razvan Cojanu inside two rounds.

Light-heavyweight Anthony Yarde will remain highly ranked with the WBO after dismissing Travis Reeves inside five rounds.
