ANTHONY JOSHUA went into the seventh round for only the second time in his career as he defended the IBF world heavyweight title on Saturday night at the O2 in London.

America’s Dominic Breazeale proved a gutsy challenger, hanging tough beneath, at times, heavy punishment. Joshua finally broke apart his resistance at 1-01 of the seventh. After dropping Breazeale once, Joshua walked his stubborn opponent down and, with Dominic trying to swing off the ropes, Anthony battered his first challenger down into the canvas.

“When you’re loading up, trying to knock them out, it does take a lot of energy. You’ve got to control the fight. I learned that, just break them down bit by bit, rather than trying to knock them out with single punches. I just took my time and I finally found the shots which took him out,” Joshua said.
