Ricardo Espinoza Franco is a current super-bantamweight contender from Tijuana, Mexico. Born on July 25, 1997, the man known as ‘Hindu’ is a noted puncher with a KO ratio above 80 per cent. Espinoza’s career has moved between Mexico and the United States. He once contested the WBO Interim title at 118 pounds after holding the WBO Latino bantamweight title. Espinoza went on to hold the WBA Fedecentro super-bantamweight belt.

Following no significant amateur pedigree, Espinoza turned professional in 2015, making his name as a puncher. In May 2016, Espinoza suffered his first career loss, being dropped and outpointed by Sam Rodriguez. Bouncing back with three wins, almost a year to the day of the Rodriguez loss, Espinoza was defeated again, this time by Christian Nieto Ayala.

Espinoza would remain unbeaten until April 2019, when Filipino Jon Riel Casimero dropped him and forced a 12th-round stoppage. At the time of the stoppage, the scores on the cards were very close. After defeating an unbeaten prospect, Espinoza lost for the fourth time, on points to Daniel Roman, who had previously reigned as a unified champion.
