BEN Shalom hopes the communication channels between UK promoters can remain open in the future.

On May 27 there will be shows from Boxxer, Matchroom and Queensberry. Lawrence Okolie v Chris Billam-Smith, Mauricio Lara v Leigh Wood 2 and Luis Alberto Lopez v Michael Conlan are the main events in question. And after some adult conversations each of the three will start at different times.

Unless you’re a fan of multi-tasking and have the right amount of devices then watching three at once is near impossible.

Speaking to Boxing News Shalom, who promotes tonight’s card in Birmingham featuring Joshua Buatsi, was pleased to be told by BN that Eddie Hearn is open to working with him in the future. Boxxer and Queensberry combined last year to work on the Joe Joyce-Joseph Parker cross-promotion and if more can happen in the future then boxing will benefit.

“That’s great and it can hopefully avoid clashes. It can hopefully make [more] fights. It’s great to hear. What more can fans want,” said Shalom.

The 28-year-old was full of positivity about the upcoming schedule over the next two months.

“Look at the amount of boxing going on at the moment [and] how popular boxing is right now. I know there’s all these complaints but May 6 we’ve put on here [in Birmingham] we couldn’t have dreamt of selling this many tickets. May 27 has pretty much sold out the [Vitality] Stadium. The infrastructure we’ve got down there now is incredible.

“June 10 sold out, York Hall, Adam Azim. June 17 (Liam Smith v Chris Eubank Jr 2) 75 per cent of tickets sold. Sold way better than the first fight. Boxing’s really popular right now. There are other schedules that are extremely good as well.

“If we can work together, if we can say right, you’re going this Saturday, I know it’s always [not] possible but wow it [would be] phenomenal. May 27, yes, it is unfortunate we’re clashing. If promoters can communicate and talk that’s what we always wanted. It’s hard to avoid, we want to avoid it. Let’s hope we can start to communicate more.”
