AMIR KHAN and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez made their feelings towards Donald Trump clear in the wake of some controversial comments from the Republican presidential hopeful. Should the unthinkable happen, and Trump becomes President, he intends to ban all Muslims from the USA, and build a wall to keep the Mexicans out.

Devout Muslim Khan said ahead of Saturday night’s shot at Mexico’s WBC middleweight champion: “It’s my dream to fight in a big fight like this in Vegas and I won’t let this go,” and then added with a smile, and to much laughter from the media: “This could be the last fight here for me and Canelo if Donald Trump becomes President! So you’ll all have to tune in on Saturday.”

Shortly before the press conference began, Alvarez also had a message for controversial Republican Trump.

“I don’t want to get involved in political issues, but it hurts and it offends,” said Canelo.

“I want him to understand that when I go out running, I see a lot of my countrymen working hard in the fields. They’ve not come here to rob and steal. We want to show him that we Mexicans come here to succeed and to be victorious.”

Show promoter Oscar De La Hoya insisted that Trump would be present in the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena, but he would not have ringside seats.
