Allegiant Stadium confirmed as venue for Canelo-Crawford

THE Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas has been confirmed as the venue for September’s undisputed super-middleweight title fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

Canelo, 63-2-2 (39 KOs), and Crawford, 41-0 (31 KOs), have been linked to a meeting since the latterโ€™s career-best triumph over Errol Spence Jr. in July 2023, which crowned him as the undisputed welterweight champion.

This victory saw Crawford become boxingโ€™s first multi-divisional undisputed conqueror in the four-belt era, but this feat has since been repeated by fellow pound-for-pound talents Naoya Inoue and Oleksandr Usyk.

This autumn, the American will have the opportunity to create history once again, as he makes the leap from super-welterweight to super-middleweight in a quest to dethrone Alvarez and claim all four belts in a third weight-class.

Although the fight was officially announced last month the venue was only revealed today, with The Ring confirming that Canelo and Crawford would collide at the Allegiant Stadium.

The 65,000-seater opened in 2020 as the sixth most expensive stadium in the world and is the home to the NFLโ€™s Las Vegas Raiders, as well as the UNLV Rebels college football team.

This will be the first boxing event to be staged at the Allegiant Stadium, but the Sin City venue has previously hosted Super Bowl LVIII, WrestleMania 41 and is used regularly for concerts.
