GARY O’SULLIVAN and Anthony Fitzgerald did not like each other and entered their November 15 Dublin showdown with destruction in mind.
It came quickly, and it was ‘Spike’ who delivered it. A thunderous right uppercut, loaded with malice and precision, slammed off Fitzgerald and sent him down with a little over 60 seconds on the clock.
Fitzgerald managed to rise, but his unsteady legs convinced veteran referee Mickey Vann to wave a halt.
