Jordan Gill: ‘I want to be in big fights’

Jordan Gill

ONE of Britainโ€™s emerging talents Jordan Gill has earned himself the opportunity that heโ€™s been craving and will faceย  Jason Cunningham on Matchroom Boxingโ€™sย JDNXTGEN show in Manchester.

โ€˜The Thrillโ€™ย can secure a British featherweight title fight if he defeats Cunningham in an eliminator at Victoria Warehouse on Sunday 25th February,ย live on Sky Sports.

Gill has been denied the opportunity to fight for the English strap, but victory over the former Commonwealth champion will put him in line to face the winner when Ryan Walsh defends the Lord Lonsdale belt against Isaac Lowe on February 17.

The Thrillโ€™s Time To Shineโ€ฆ

โ€œI want to be fighting regularly and I want to be in big fights,โ€ said Gill, who is trained by Dave Coldwell. โ€œThis year Iโ€™m looking at all the top guys in Britain, and they know it.

โ€œIโ€™ve had two fights with Dave and itโ€™s really clicking. Iโ€™m mandatory for the English title, but Samir Mouniemne vacated the title because he didnโ€™t want to fight me, then Ben Jones said no. These guys donโ€™t want to face me, but I can take a step closer to the British title in Manchester, so things are looking good.โ€
