TYSON FURY took to a stage in a central London nightclub to formally announce his fight with Francis Ngannou then labelled Oleksandr Usyk a “little quitting pussy”.

Fury is set to face MMA star Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October 28th and the pair came together for the first time late on Thursday evening for a press conference and face off.

The heavyweight, who holds the WBC title, decided to take on Ngannou after an agreement to face Usyk fell apart after lengthy negotiations due to a disagreement surrounding the purse split for a contracted rematch.

Usyk instead took on another Brit, Daniel Dubois, in Poland last month and won via ninth round TKO, but not before controversy in the fifth when he was dropped heavily by a punch on the beltline. Promoter Frank Warren has since lodged an appeal with the WBA to get Dubois reinstated as mandatory challenger.

Like Warren, Fury believes Usyk should have lost the fight in the fifth round and branded him a quitter due to the circumstances.

He said: “I thought Usyk lost the Dubois fight and he quit so he’s a little quitting pussy. And once you quit once you will always quit, just like we saw with Dubois. He quit too, so that was two quitters fighting each other.

“It’s tough to say somebody has quit but Usyk quit with a bodyshot and rattled around on the floor like a little bitch for five minutes and the other one quit with a jab. But the truth is the truth and that’s it.

“It is what it is, you’re a fighting man or you’re not and if you quit once, you will always quit again. My father taught me that when I was a child. If you spew it once you’ll always spew it and that’s the facts of the matter. End of.

“I’ve been hit full-on, right in the bollocks by the hardest punchers you’ve ever seen, I didn’t roll around like that, not unless he’s got balls like King Kong, like two pineapples in his trousers.

“Did it surprise me that he was rolling around like a little bitch? Yeah it surprised me. I thought he was a warrior, I thought he was a true little fighting man. But he’s clearly not, he’s just a little wussy.”

Despite his outburst, Fury says he is willing to rekindle talks with Usyk although his suggestions around a potential purse split do not sound promising.

“If Usyk is a good little boy, he might be an option but if he doesn’t he will just be another foreign middleweight that stays out in the cold,” Fury said.

“I will beat him, and I won’t even look for a body shot either. I will knock him out with a chin shot if that fight ever happens. If he is a good little boy and takes a small percentage of the superstar’s money then he will get a fight.

“But if he wants big bucks, he can go and fight someone else for fuck all again like he got against Dubois. If he fights Hrgovic, he will get fuck all also and if he fights Zhang he will get even less. If he wants a seat at the king’s table then you have to play ball with the master.”

Fury also insists he had no choice but to turn to a boxing debutant in order to secure a fight given the lack of willing challengers in his own sport.

“All these boxers had their chances over the last nine months to do a deal with me,” Fury added. “They didn’t so we moved on and took a real man who is willing to challenge himself.

“This guy is stepping up and fighting the lineal heavyweight champion of the world in his debut.

“Facts are facts: Joshua bottled it, Usyk bottled it and Andy Ruiz asked for $20m, so he bottled it too. And here’s another one – Wilder was asked to fight Ruiz in a final eliminator in February and they both said no. So they bottled it too. I took a real man on here who is willing to take on a challenge, because the rest are little shithouse pussies and I don’t mind saying it.

“I’ve been disappointed with how much pussies these other guys are. It has taken a guy from MMA to come and challenge me, step up to the plate when no other actual so-called boxer will step up to it. Full credit to Ngannou, he’s obviously a brave man.”
