Tyson Fury: I don’t have much use for the money

TYSON FURY has claimed he plans to give his seven-figure pay day for Saturdayโ€™s fight with Deontay Wilder to โ€œthe poor and to build homes for the homelessโ€.

The undefeated 30-year-old is expected to earn a career-high purse when he challenges WBC heavyweight champion Wilder at Los Angelesโ€™ Staples Center.

After being such a controversial figure he has gained admirers for being so open about his struggles with mental health โ€“ and insists there are still others he wants to help.

โ€œIโ€™m going to give it to the poor and Iโ€™m going to build homes for the homeless,โ€ said Fury, according to the Irish Mirror.

โ€œI donโ€™t really have much use for it, Iโ€™m not interested in becoming a millionaire or a billionaire. Iโ€™m a boxer not a businessman and Iโ€™ll probably go down the same route as every other boxer โ€“ skint at the end of it all.

โ€œYou canโ€™t take it with you so I might as well do something with it and help out people who canโ€™t help themselves.โ€

Furyโ€™s beliefs regarding his personal wealth also come despite his wife Paris being pregnant, and with them already having four children.

โ€œI believe all kids should make their own money in life because if they donโ€™t, they wonโ€™t appreciate it,โ€ he added.

โ€œItโ€™s easy to spend someone elseโ€™s money and the money Iโ€™ve earned is practically blood money. My kids have to make their own living and make their own way in life; they wonโ€™t be living off my name or reputation because thatโ€™s too easy a route.

โ€œYou see many of these rich peopleโ€™s kids doing nothing because they had it too easy. I never had it easy, I had to work for whatever I got. I was working from very young, everything I wanted in life I had to work for.โ€
