Timothy Bradley could be headed toward another war.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum told USA TODAY Sports that a welterweight bout between Bradley and Brandon Rios is being negotiated for winter on HBO. ESPN first reported the possibility.

“That’s the fight we want to make (for Bradley), and we ll see if we can make that happen,” Arum said. “And if not we’ll do it against Sadam Ali.”

Ali, who is promoted by Golden Boy, is the mandatory challenger to the WBO belt Bradley won against Jessie Vargas in June amid controversy. Bradley was handily winning the bout when he was stunned in Round 12. Referee Pat Russell stopped the fight with seven seconds left, saying he though he heard the bell, and Bradley won a unanimous decision. Vargas is appealing the result with the California State Athletic Commission.
