TERENCE CRAWFORD will defend his WBO and WBC world super-lightweight titles against John Molina at CenturyLink Center in Omaha on December 10.
HBO will broadcast in the US on a date which was originally being held for Gennady Golovkin’s next fight, however the unified middleweight champion will not box again this year, paving the way for Crawford to squeeze in a third fight for 2016.
Crawford began the year with a stoppage win over Henry ‘Hank’ Lundy before adding the WBC title to the WBO belt he already held by dominating Viktor Postol in a breakout performance.
Top Rank will promote Crawford-Molina, and the bout could serve as a warm-up for Crawford to a potential fight with Manny Pacquiao. The Filipino star, also promoted by Top Rank, ended his retirement last weekend by defeating welterweight champion Jessie Vargas.
In June, Molina revitalised his career by upsetting Ruslan Provodnikov to earn himself lofty rankings with several governing bodies.
The pair will attend a press conference on Thursday to officially announce the fight.
