Serhii Bohachuk returns against Mykal Fox in California

Serhii Bohachuk

HARD-hitting contender Serhii Bohachuk returns to the ring on May 17 as he continues his ascent back to the top. Last seen putting a beating on Ishmael Davis at the back end of 2024, Bohachuk meets Mykal Fox over 10 rounds in Californiaโ€™s Commerce Casino. Tom Loefflerโ€™s 360 Promotions is running the event, live on UFC Fight Pass.

Bohachuk is a legitimate puncher who pushed Vergil Ortiz Jr to the wire last August, dropping the unbeaten fighter twice before coming out on the wrong end of the decision. That was the swashbuckling Ukrainianโ€™s second career loss. Brandon Adams took his best punches and stopped Serhii back in 2021.

Marylandโ€™s Fox, 24-4 (5 KOs), will fancy he can recreate Adams’ slick moves behind the jab and fiddle the fight favourite around long enough to tick rounds off. Bohachuk, 25-2 (24 KOs), will, of course, think otherwise.

Rangy fox is extremely tall for 154. He is also past a career-threatening spell of three straight losses that included a controversial reverse to Gabriel Maestre in 2021 for a WBA Interim title. โ€˜The Professorโ€™ can put on boxing classes when allowed. Bohachuk will see all of the gangly body as a prime rib steak to feed on with his body shots.

Serhii Bohachuk vs. Mykal Fox Fight Prediction

How tasty would a fight between Bohachuk and IBF king Murtazaliev be? That will have to wait. First, the 30-year-old will have to get past Fox. I think he will do, likely by stoppage.

Some have been critical of this fight, saying Fox is not a reasonable top 15 challenge. Itโ€™s a fair opponent if Bohachuk finds himself back at the world level after an impressive win. BN Online picks him to get the job done in eight or nine rounds.

Serhii Bohachuk vs. Mykal Fox Undercard
