RONALD Ellis travels to Johannesburg, South Africa, on 28th September to take on heavy-handed Patrick Mukala as part of Seconds Out Promotions’ Genesis card. Keen to avoid becoming a yardstick to the stars, Ellis has the talent and experience to cause issues for his Congolese foe.

In some quarters nicknamed ‘Relentless’, 34-year-old Ellis has mixed with the likes of David Benavidez, Christian Mbilli and Erik Bazinyan. Currently on a three-fight losing streak, Ellis holds wins over Immanuwel Aleem, Christopher Brooker and an injury-laced success over Matt Korobov.

The Genesis Re-Awakening event will also feature entertainment acts, making it a multifaceted celebration of African identity and excellence. The main event pits Patrick โ€˜The Pantherโ€™ Mukala (15-2-1, 14 KOs), a knockout artist on the precipice of breaking into the upper echelons of the middleweight division, and a seasoned veteran in the peak of his career, Ronald โ€˜Akeemโ€™ Ellis (18-4-2, 12 KOs), who recently joined the legendary Freddie Roach at the Wildcard Gym.

According to the promoters, “This bout is set to be a spectacular clash of stylesโ€”thunder versus lightningโ€”capturing the essence of what Genesis is all about.”
