Product review – adidas Speedex 16.1 BOOST

adidas

TRUE to their innovative form, leading sportswear brand adidas have unveiled a boxing shoe that has been designed to revolutionise boxing training.

The BOOST outsole has a firm grip that allows for a strong push off and stability for sudden changes in direction. Tight yet comfortable straps wrap around the ankle giving support for these incredibly light and beautifully designed boots. The attention to detail continues over into the packaging, which includes an innovative 3D boxing ring lining to the inside of the box.

The Speedex 16.1 BOOST has a sole that replicates the cushioning of a boxing ring, thus enabling faster footwork and – they claim – endless energy, allowing boxers to train harder and for longer.

The Speedex 16.1 is a result of adidas working alongside the German national boxing team.  Senior Product Manager Jan Wildner says, “We have gained incisive and precise athlete feedback around the product’s performance. Understanding that 80% of a boxer’s fight preparation is in the gym with only 20% based in the ring, it was key to enhance our footwear to allow our boxers to train harder for longer at the highest speed levels.”

The adidas Speedex 16.1 is now available to purchase at adidasboxing.com and at specialist retailers, RRP €200. For the latest news follow @adidasboxing on Instagram.
