Paulie Malignaggi won’t wait any longer for a European title shot

FORMER two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi is โ€œ80-20โ€™ about fighting again but insists he will not hang around waiting for a shot at the European title. Malignaggi has not fought since his four-round drubbing at the hands of IBF champion Shawn Porter last April but was hoping to challenge EBU king Gianluca Branco on next weekโ€™s Kell Brook-Jo Jo Dan-topped card in Sheffield. Malignaggi qualifies for a shot due to his Italian heritage.
โ€œThey put it back to May, then July,โ€ Malignaggi revealed. โ€œBut I donโ€™t wanna wait all year for an EBU title fight. Iโ€™m still thinking things through, Iโ€™ve been training but Iโ€™m 80-20 โ€“ 80 per cent yes โ€“ that I will will fight again. My next fight is up to [his advisor] Al Haymon but I hope to have my chance on his PBC [Premier Boxing Champions] shows as well.โ€
