Michael Conlan (Top prospect):
I think Joshua is too big and powerful for Ruiz. Ruiz has a good chin and fast hands and could cause Joshua problems for the first few rounds, but I think Joshua should break him down and take him out around the sixth or seventh round.

Wayne Alexander (Former European champion):
I see it being a better fighter than people expect, with Ruiz maybe giving Anthony a few problems with his hand speed and combination punching. He is not a big hitter, though, and that’s why I see Joshua sticking to his game plan and pulling away with the fight late on, winning on points or maybe getting a late stoppage.

Gareth A. Davies (Boxing journalist):
Exciting for three rounds. Ruiz will bring his utmost, will be brave and try to land a hook from hell to upset the huge odds against him. But he will ultimately prove too small for Joshua. I see Ruiz being stopped for the first time in his career around the fifth or sixth rounds. Defeat would be disaster for Joshua on his US debut. He is not meant to lose.

Miles Shinkwin (Light-heavyweight contender):
I can’t see Ruiz troubling Joshua too much. I think he may have a good couple of rounds to start but, once he realises he’s in too deep, Joshua will start tagging him regularly and take him out around halfway.
