One of the standout heavyweights of this generation, Tyson Fury has cemented himself as one of Britain’s best, and today ‘The Gypsy King’ is celebrating the anniversary of the fight that he believes ‘made him a legend’.
Fury became a two-time British champion by defeating Derek Chisora on two occasions, but close shaves against both John McDermott and Steve Cunningham had fans doubting whether he could achieve success at the world level.
As a result, when he ventured to Germany to take on Wladimir Klitschko, Fury entered the ring as a sizeable underdog, as he attempted to put an end to the second-longest reign in the history of the heavyweight division.
Yet, a masterclass from the Briton made the upset a reality, as Fury put together a phenomenal performance to dethrone the Ukrainian and bring the heavyweight marbles back to the United Kingdom.
On his Instagram, Fury beamed with delight on the 10-year anniversary of that night, admitting that he has been celebrating the victory every day since.

“Good morning, everybody, it’s been a decade today, 10 years later, a full decade since I dethroned the long-reigning heavyweight champion of the world, Wladimir Klitschko.
“28th of November 2015, on that night I said ‘today, Tyson Fury goes down as a legend’, that was before the fight – never mind beating him and going on to do exactly what I did. Come on!
“I have been celebrating that every day, Wladimir, for 10 years. Thank you Wlad, for making me a multi-millionaire, very successful and a multi-time world champion. Get up there you sucker!”
Fury is now being linked to a comeback to the heavyweight scene, in the hopes of improving upon his legacy in the sport and becoming boxing’s fifth three-time heavyweight world champion.
