BADOU JACKย earned his share of doubters when he lost his undefeated record via a first-round KO against lightly regarded Derek Edwards — Edwards’ only victory in his last four outings — but things have changed.
Jack resurrected his stock in April by confiscating the WBC super middleweight crown from Anthony Dirrell (27-0-1 at the time), a superb performance that has prompted much of the boxing public to re-evaluate their opinion of him.
“The Ripper” was the featured guest Sunday on The Ringside Boxing Show to discuss that stunning victory, his Sept. 12 showdown with George Groves on the Mayweather-Berto undercard, and multiple other topics related to his unique life (born and raised in Sweden) and career (fought for the Gambian Olympic Team, lived with Shannon Briggs, trains in Mayweather’s Las Vegas gym).
Our in-depth interview with Badou Jack is preceded by a conversation with expert analysts Travis Hartman, Rizwaan Zahid and John J. Raspanti about Leo Santa Cruz’s star-making performance against a more-than-worthy Abner Mares, Shane Mosley’s weird decision to fight a rematch with a predictably flabby Ricardo Mayorga, and Floyd Mayweather’s new stalker — Ronda Rousey, among other subjects.
