TWO of Britain’s hottest prospects had run-outs on the undercard of the Kell Brook-Shawn Porter IBF welterweight world title fight at the StubHub Center in Carson, California on Saturday (August 16).
Luke Campbell, an Olympic gold medallist in 2012, took out American journeyman Steve Trumble in two rounds to advance to 7-0 (5). Campbell is expected to box on October 25 in his Hull hometown, though could get another outing in September first.
After being extended 10 rounds in his last bout by Vladine Biosse, Callum Smith chalked up another stoppage victory, hammering Abraham Hernandez, now 5-1 (3), to defeat in the first round. Smith advances to 13-0 (10).
