Ennis, Chukhadzhian going distance again
Lots of fans here in Philadelphia heading for the exits as the 12th round started. Ennis is obviously winning, but didn’t necessarily perform better in this rematch than in their first fight.
23:21:38
Ennis needs to tighten up his defense
The most significant takeaway for me from Ennis’ last two fights against Avanesyan and Chukhadzhian is that he really needs to tighten up his defense. Chukhadzhian isn’t a big puncher. Good thing, because he has caught Ennis clean with several shots that would hurt him if landed by a more powerful opponent. That said, Boots is in total control entering the 8th round.
23:01:16
Chukhadzhian more aggressive this time
Chukhadzhian came to fight tonight, at least, after running for much of their first fight. He’ll likely get knocked out if he continues trying to trade with Ennis, though. Ennis is a slow starter sometimes, so look for him to heat up here in the 3rd round.
22:45:07
Ennis-Chukhadzhian II is utterly unnecessary
Karen Chukhadzhian lost all 12 rounds to Jaron Ennis on all 3 scorecards in their first fight 22 months ago in Washington, D.C. No one, including IBF president Daryl Peoples, could reasonably explain why we’re sitting here, getting ready to watch them fight again.

Bam Rodriguez drops Pedro Guevara twice, wins by 3rd-round KO
Bam is a bad dude, as we well know. Poor Pedro Guevara never had a chance. Jesse Rodriguez dropped him twice during the 3rd round and knocked him out.
First floored with a left that sort of knocked Guevara off his feet. A right uppercut by Bam knocked Guevara to the canvas a second time with 16 seconds to go in the 3rd round.
Referee Ricky Gonzalez stopped the fight as Guevara rolled around on the canvas.
22:06:06
Bam’s pressure already getting to Guevara
Would be surprised, based on the way the first round unfolded, if Pedro Guevara makes it more than 5 of 6 rounds against Bam Rodriguez. Too much pressure, too much precision.

Raymond Ford dominates in comeback bout
Easy victory for Raymond Ford, who shut out Orlando Gonzalez on the scorecards of judges Robin Taylor and Tony Lundy. They scored it 100-88 apiece for Ford, who won 99-89 according to judge Dewey LaRosa.
It looked like Ford might get the stoppage when his right hook knocked Gonzalez to the seat of his trunks a few seconds before the 8th round ended. Gonzalez got up and showed heart by making it to the final bell in their 10-rounder.
21:23:39
Raymond Ford dominating Orlando Gonzalez
Orlando Gonzalez got what he asked for from Raymond Ford in the 7th round. Waved him forward to fight late in the 6th, and Ford obliged. Blasted Gonzalez with a left that knocked him off balance and caused him to hold in the 7th. Ford could stop Gonzalez in later rounds if he presses for the KO.
21:12:35
Raymond Ford in complete control
Raymond Ford, in his first fight since Nick Ball beat him for the WBA featherweight title June 1, is in complete control here entering the 5th round against Puerto Rican southpaw Orlando Gonzalez. Pushing the pace, working well off his jab and landing occasional lefts up top.

Khalil Coe, 24-1 favorite, upset by Manuel Gallegos, 9th-round TKO
Khalil Coe didn’t want to fight anymore at the start of the 9th round. Went down as soon as Gallegos hit him near Coe’s corner. Eric Dali stopped the fight following as soon as Coe went down for the 4th time in the bout. HUGE upset win for Gallegos. Coe was a 24-1 favorite, according to FanDuel sportsbook.
20:26:25
Gallegos drops Coe for 3rd time
Coe down for the 3rd time early in the 8th round. Got up at the count of 7, but way down on the cards now, about to get upset by Gallegos.
20:23:41
Gallegos drops Coe again in 7th round
A barrage of punches from Gallegos sent Coe to one knee again late in the 7th round. He was down for the 2nd time in their fight. Barely beat Eric Dali’s count at 9. Probably needs a knockout now, after 2 point deductions.
20:20:29
Coe could get upset
Coe managed to stay on his feet in the 6th round, but he is VERY tired. Wonder whether he has 4 more rounds left in him.
20:19:00
Coe down from body shot in 5th round
Manuel Gallegos’ left to the body dropped heavily favored Khalil Coe in the 5th round. Coe barely beat Eric Dali’s count, but he went on the offensive to keep Gallegos from finishing him off. Made it to the start of the 6th.
11/09/2024
Manuel Gallegos has become much more offensive here in the fourth round and appears to have buzzed a fading Khalil Coe. A fatigued Coe held on at times and made it to the end of the round. VERY interesting shift here in a fight Coe was winning easily.
